It started in Sydney, with one conviction
That a beautiful Persian-style rug should be easy to choose, honestly described and delivered free to your door.
A small Sydney business with a simple idea
Saffron Rug Co. started in Sydney with one conviction: Persian designs bring more warmth to a room than almost anything else, and choosing one online should be simple.
Antique hand-knotted rugs cost thousands and don't love kids, pets or sandy feet. So we set out to choose Persian-style rugs we'd be happy to have in our own homes, in designs and sizes that suit Australian homes, at a fair price.
Every design picked one by one
We look for traditional medallions, borders and faded, vintage colours that sit naturally on timber floors and tiles. Each design we keep gets its own name and a description of its real colours.
- Persian-style, not Persian. Our designs are inspired by traditional patterns. They are not made in Iran and they are not hand-knotted.
- Machine-made and practical. The design is printed onto a soft, low-pile polyester surface with a non-slip backing. Easy to vacuum and spot clean.
Clear sizes, free delivery, real answers
Every design comes in several sizes, up to 200 x 300 cm, and our to-scale drawings show how each one fits your room. Delivery is free and tracked anywhere in Australia, and unused rugs can be returned within 30 days.
